The manga concluded back in 2008 with the anime shortly following up in 2010. The show made its way to American fans thanks to its run on Adult Swim. Now, seemingly out of nowhere, it's getting a sequel run.

The sequel was confirmed by Inuyasha series creator Rumiko Takahashi, who is also known for creating Urusei Yatsura, Ranma ½, and Rin-ne. The title of the new series will be called Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon. The story centers around Inuyasha and Kagome's daughter, Yashahime. The clip below is a sneak peak of a rough animation reel, featuring Yashahime and the children of various other characters from the Inuyasha series. There is no official trailer yet.

Here's one YouTuber's take on it:

Fans are excited to see new content from Takahashi's popular franchise after over a decade since the last series concluded. Even 2020 has some good news to give, despite many of the events in the past few months.
