Dumbbell Anime's Workout Music Video Surpasses 115 Million Views and it's a Must Watch

The hit anime series' live-action music video has reached a new milestone thanks to its quirky but unique take on fitness.

How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? was a surprising hit anime series in 2019. It was unique in that it took physical fitness, an activity that isn't really perceived in the same massive light in Japan as it does in the West, and put a fun exciting spin on it complete with a high energy theme song.

The anime's opening song, Onegai Muscle (a.k.a. Please, Muscles) has inspired many who've never so much as lifted a 5 pound weight to take on the intense challenge of exercising. An official live-action take on the anime's opening has been racking up views in recent months, and has totaled over 115 million views on YouTube at the time of this writing.

The song's vocals are done by the lead voice actors of the anime, Ai Fairouz and Kaito Ishikawa. The music video features Japanese bodybuilders Erika Saiki and Naotaka Yokokawa in their place, working out together while showing off their unusually large muscles.

How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?'s official Twitter account made a post celebrating the video surpassing 100 million views. The post features a new illustration with the series main characters Hibiki and Machio.
