Here's Every Anime Delayed to 2021 So Far

Many events in 2020 have led to a number of anticipated Anime titles to be delayed to 2021.

This year has been quite the struggle for many individuals on a personal level as well as many industries that require lots of interaction to stay afloat, and the Anime industry is no exception. Many series and movies have been delayed to premiere later this year, while others have been pushed back all the way to 2021. Here is a list of series and films set for release next year so far.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime' Season 2

The state of emergency in Japan, which was only recently lifted, set the production schedule back immensely. The first half of the season is expected to premiere anywhere from October 2020 to January 2021 while the second half is expected to land from April 2021 to July 2021.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Anger's Judgment

Originally set to premiere in October 2020, the series is expected to announce a release date somewhere in 2021, via anime's official website and Twitter account.

So I'm a Spider, So What?

The anime was originally scheduled for this year but the series official website announced that it would be delayed to January 2021.

The Promised Neverland Season 2

The much anticipated sequel to the popular series was pushed from October 2020 to January 2021.

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 2

The new season was set to premiere in April of this year but was delayed to July. The first half of the season is currently airing, while the latter half will premiere in January 2021.

Log Horizon: Fall of the Round Table

Season 3 of Log Horizon was set to release in October of this year, but was delayed to January 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic.

The Quintessential Quintuplets Anime Season 2

Expected to premiere in October 2020, the new season was delayed thanks to the pandemic. The staff for the series asked fans for their continued support as they strive to maintain the safety of everyone on the production team.

To Your Eternity

As with most series so far, the anime was set to originally premiere in October of this year. The series will debut on the NHK Education channel in April 2021.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

The anime adaptation of the isekai light novel series was announced to have been pushed back to a 2021 debut. It is unknown whether or not if this is related to the ongoing pandemic.

The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

The spinoff to the well received That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series was pushed back from January 2021 to April 2021.

Skate-Leading Stars

The original anime series by the series creator of Code Geass and Black Butler has been delayed to January 2021, having been initially slated for a July 15th release.

Pretty Guardians Sailor Moon Eternal The MOVIE

The two part movie project from Toei Animation had its first movie originally set to release September 11th. Toei later announced the first movie will premiere January 8, 2021, in addition to the second film premiering February 11, 2021.

Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet

The 24th movie in the Detective Conan franchise was originally scheduled for April 17, 2020 but was delayed along with Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Crash! Rakuga Kingdom and Roughly Four Heroes. The film is now set to premiere April 2021.

Gekijōban Seitokai Yakuindomo 2

The sequel film was set for July 10 of this year, but has since been rescheduled for January 2021.

Soreike! Anpanman the Movie: Fluffy Fuwari and the Cloud Country

The film's website announced it was delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, with staff concerned for the safety of theatergoers. Originally scheduled for June 26, it's now set to land in the summer of 2021.

Unfortunately for fans who preferred their content dubbed this will inevitably mean the delay of dubbed versions of the above titles.
